IME Consultants (IMEC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Mine Ventilation Upgrade for one of our clients at their Underground Gold Mine in Indonesia including stripping and lining a shaft and installation of ventilation equipment.
IMEC were engaged to provide full engineering support throughout the project.
The project general scope was to increase an existing 1200mm diameter raisebored emergency egress shaft to 4700mm in diameter, and then equip it with ventilation fans to become a second exhaust as part of a general ventilation upgrade of the mine.
IMEC developed a methodology and engineering package for the vertical development, including collar establishment, strip and line sequence and shaft concrete lining. IMEC designed conveyances, shaft shutters for concrete lining and an execution sequence for the construction. IMEC also reviewed and specified all appropriate equipment for the works that was then submitted to the Mining Inspectorate for works approval.
Technical support was provided to the client throughout the construction work, and all was completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Engineering and design services for the fabrication and installation of a Ventilation Fan support structure was provided, along with design works for a ventilation bulkhead that included a personal access door and cast-in vent fan wall adaptors.
A surface exhaust evase was purpose designed and fabricated to suit the shaft diameter and flow requirements using Indonesian steel sections and in accordance with both Indonesian and Australian design standards.
IMEC completed all design works in accordance with the client’s timeline, budget and site-specific requirements, and using our ISO9001 accredited Quality Management System.
IMEC is delighted with the successful outcome for our client and the works add to the growing portfolio of successful ventilation projects IMEC has been involved with.
